The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer comes in two shades – Luminous Bronze Light and Radiant Bronze Light. I went for the former which is the lighter of the two. From looking at swatches online (mainly Temptalia) I couldn’t detect too much difference between them, but I haven’t seen them in person so I can’t really comment. Much like the Ambient Lighting Blushes, the idea of these bronzers is that they are interlaced with one of the Ambient Lighting Powders – Luminous Bronze Light with the Luminous Light powder. The Hourglass website suggests that this shade offers ‘a softer, candlelit warmth’ and that it is suited to fair/light complexions.
This is definitely a glowy product, but the shimmer is so refined that it produces more of a sheen on the cheeks than any obvious glitter or shimmer particles. On my current light skin tone (roughly NC20 or 4.0 in Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk) I would say that this definitely pulls very warm-toned. It is more orange than it is red, but on my skintone, it mimics a sun-kissed glow as opposed to an oompa loompa. It is a buildable product, meaning you can’t go overboard and different levels of intensity are easily achieved. I personally think this looks gorgeous on the skin – in the photos below it is all I have on my cheeks, and it gives both stunning warmth and a healthy glow that is just heavenly.
For those of you familiar with the Ambient Lighting Powders, the packaging is identical, but rather than gunmetal it is more golden (photographing reflective packaging is an absolute nightmare, I apologise). For me this exudes luxury and if you’re like me and you love warm bronzers then I think you will love this too. It is obviously expensive (retails at £42) but if it is in your budget, or you wish to spoil yourself then I would highly recommend.
